TYPICAL INTRANET CONTENTS

Notice: This page provides suggested (minimum) contents for an organization's password-protected INTRANET.
An intranet is a private enterprise network, designed to support an organization's employees to communicate, collaborate and perform their roles.

INTRANET - Below is a list of suggested Intranet pages, each with a specific purpose.
CALENDAR - a company calendar of events by day, week, month or year
DOCUMENT REPOSITORY - Corporate documents, including communications, announcements, policies, procedures must be posted on your intranet portal and must be easily accessible to all. The document repository should allow employees to access documents at any time by searching for a specific topic. It should provide an automatic reminder to the management teams when it is time for reviewing or updating documents.
EMPLOYEE DIRECTORY - a list of employee names and contact information (A-Z sort)
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION - A space to recognize the outstanding achievements of employees, to promote an excellent organizational culture that motivates employees.
FAQ - A Questions and Answers section about the organization, processes, products, services, and other answers to often asked questions.
NEWS ABOUT ORGANIZATION - To help keep employees up to date with new events, new products or services, customer awards or purchases, and other relevant organization news.
ON-BOARDING - To give new employees information they need at the beginning of their employment, including procedure manuals for the work they will do, training videos, specific documents, link to employee Directory and other on-boarding information.
ONLINE APPLICATIONS - applications for vacations, illness, maternity, request for reimbursement of expenses, verification of employment, request for equipment, training, purchase. Ideally, people can ask for, approve, or reject applications.
ORGANIZATION APPLICATIONS - Including Help Desk, team controls, workflows, and reports.
SEARCH ENGINE - To help everyone find the right information fast.
SUGGESTION FORM - To provide employees an opportunity to express their ideas and comments about the organization, activities, leaders, managers, administrative suggestions, or other suggestions.
SURVEYS - Including all Oe21 surveys your organization uses as well as organization-unique surveys or polls.
TO-DO LIST - That employees can use to manage their time efficiently while carrying out prioritized tasks.
TRAINING RESOURCES - Including the Oe21 guidelines and tools. Training resources information should keep employees up to date with all online training required by the organization.
